PRISM / ENGin
Teach a child from a single-parent family and adopted children English. I prepared my teaching source and tried to entertain the students to make my class enjoyable. I also tried teaching English to a student living in Ukraine online. Talk about various topics and learn about each other. Communicate and improve student’s talking skills in English. Prepared weekly teaching resources.

Covid-19
When I first began my PRISM activities, we were unable to hold in-person classes due to COVID-19. Instead, I shared the materials I had prepared through screen sharing and conducted lessons with the students online.

Online Class
I was initially worried about whether the children would adapt well to the remote format, but fortunately they stayed focused. They took the weekly vocabulary quizzes seriously, and they made good use of the lesson materials I had prepared.

As the pandemic eased, we were finally able to visit the children’s school and teach face-to-face. We started with simple self-introductions and vocabulary tests, and as their English improved, I was able to introduce grammar lessons as well.

To keep the lessons from becoming monotonous, I occasionally incorporated activities such as clay play to create a more relaxed atmosphere. During those sessions, other children would often gather around, turning it into a fun and engaging group learning experience.

Class with Ukraine Student
Through online video chat, I could teach Ukrainian students English. We did various games related to learning English, had conversations to know each other better, and learning cultural differences from each country. I was in a position of a teacher, but I also learned a lot from my student, which was a great opportunity.

Keep in Touch
Until now, my student and I have kept in touch. We share our daily lives, or simply what we did in a day. We could catch up with each other through Instagram, where we can check each other's stories and posts. She uses videos and voice recordings to tell about her life.
