“Please Don’t Throw It Away, It’s a Piece of Art”

Only a few artworks are remembered and passed down through generations. Most
are eventually discarded. Thinking about the inevitable fate of my own work fills
me with sadness.
To break free from this cycle of distress, this decision was made to redefine
discarded objects as works of art.
This video is a type of documentary video that captures me walking through the
streets, attaching notes that read, “This is a piece of art. Please don’t throw it
away,” to abandoned trash.
By morning, these so-called artworks, marked with notes, will be swept away by
cleaning workers. However, feelings of sorrow or despair are unnecessary, since
they were abandoned from the beginning.
